.NET Conf companion - Privacy Policy

Effective date: October 7, 2026

This policy describes the .NET Conf app for iOS and Android, an unofficial conference companion developed by Gerald Versluis. Its Android package name and iOS bundle ID are dev.jfversluis.dotnetconf. The app is not affiliated with or endorsed by Microsoft or the .NET Conf organizers.

Information handled by the app

The app does not require an account. The current store and test-track Release builds do not send your bookmarks, searches, or device information to the developer or an app-operated server. They include no advertising, analytics, tracking, or app-operated crash-reporting service.

The current app does not request access to your precise location, contacts, photos, camera, or microphone. It has no app-managed cloud synchronization. We do not sell your personal information or use it for advertising.

Storage, retention, and deletion

Saved session IDs remain in app storage until you remove them using the heart action or delete the app's data. On Android, you can clear the app's storage in system settings. On iOS, delete the app (rather than offloading it) to remove its local data. Uninstalling the app normally removes its local storage.

Your operating system may include app data in device or cloud backups, depending on your settings, and may restore it on reinstallation. Backup copies are managed by your operating-system provider, not the developer. To remove those copies, use that provider's backup controls. The developer cannot access or remotely delete your local schedule or OS backups.

Local storage is protected by the operating system's app sandbox and device security. The app does not add its own encryption to the schedule file. No method of storage or transmission can be guaranteed completely secure.

External websites and platform services

If you choose to open the conference website or this online policy, the app opens the link using your system browser. The website and its hosting provider may receive ordinary web-request information, such as your IP address, browser details, and cookies, under their own privacy practices. The app does not attach your saved schedule or searches to these links.

The official conference website is governed by its own privacy policy. This policy page is hosted on GitHub Pages; see the GitHub Privacy Statement for hosting-related processing. This page contains no analytics scripts, tracking pixels, or third-party fonts.

Apple and Google may separately process store downloads, testing feedback, diagnostics, or backups according to your settings and their policies. Information you choose to submit through TestFlight, Google Play, or email is separate from the app's local schedule processing.

Privacy questions and support

The developer responsible for this app is Gerald Versluis. For privacy questions or requests, email dotnetconfapp@geraldversluis.nl.

If you contact us, we receive the address and information you choose to include and use them to respond to your request. Do not send passwords or sensitive information. We retain correspondence only as needed to handle the request and any applicable legal obligations. You can use the same address to request deletion of correspondence or exercise applicable privacy rights. Requests are subject to applicable law and any information we are legally required to retain.

Children

The app is intended for a general audience interested in software development, not specifically for children. It does not offer accounts or collect children's personal information through its ordinary app features. If you believe a child has sent personal information through a support request, contact us so we can address it.

Development builds

Developer-only Debug builds include local DevFlow inspection, which can expose app UI and state to a connected development tool. That inspection agent is excluded from the Release builds distributed through Google Play, the App Store, and TestFlight.

Changes to this policy

We will update this policy and its effective date if the app's privacy practices change. Material changes will also be communicated in the app or its release information where appropriate. Future features such as online agenda updates, accounts, or notifications are not covered as existing functionality by this policy. Any additional notice or consent required for new data processing will be provided before it begins.
